I’ve lived a lifetime of self-reflection and my conclusion points to this: our real worth isn’t about our awards, grades, income, or job title. Our worth is our unique perspective, how we see the world, and how we see ourselves. And this is what particularly defines our value in the age of AI.
We need to first get our heads around the pace of AI development, because it’s actively reshaping our world right now. This exponentially increasing development of AI is putting our society in a place beyond our wildest comprehension. Having a clear perspective is more important than ever.
AI is already giving us handy upgrades in our work, studies, and daily lives. It’s helping us think, plan, and create in new ways. But that’s just the surface. The really big questions, the deep shifts, are just ahead.
Think about it: What happens when human labor isn’t the main economic engine anymore (PLE/UBI)? What’s the point of school or a traditional job if AI can handle almost all of it? Even our basic ideas about staying healthy and getting older are being flipped upside down with life extension tech (LEV).
This radically different future needs a new kind of person: the Futurepreneur. No one has the right answer. All we have is our unique perspective. And that’s what we bring to the table in this day and age as a futurepreneur.
These are folks who think two steps ahead, prefer “coopetition” (as Prof. GSR calls it) over just competing, and are actually prepared for paradigms to completely shift, not just assuming everything will continue as is. They’re grounded, adaptable, and find satisfaction from within (not just the likes and shares they receive). They lead with heart and spirit, not just raw intelligence (SQ > EQ > IQ).
With reality itself shifting under our feet, “inner work” – meditation, self-reflection, just being centered within yourself – isn’t some luxury anymore. It’s essential for navigating what’s happening. We’re all going to need to become part philosopher, asking those essential “Who are we?” questions as technology redefines intelligence itself. And critically, we have to figure out how to get along without destroying each other. AI’s power isn’t separate from our global conflicts and traumas; it’s deeply intertwined.
As futurist Ray Kurzweil states: The Singularity is Near. This isn’t sci-fi anymore. Literally, everything is changing. My question to you isn’t if unfathomable change is coming, but how are you preparing? It really starts with understanding, valuing, and being ready to share your unique perspective. That’s your anchor in the storms ahead.
