I’ve shared my fair share of excitement about AI / AGI / Singularity for almost 15 years. I’ve been a futurist for a WHILE.
But now technology is starting to reflect our wildest dreams. And the world is completely unprepared.
So I ask any individual, any organization — how are YOU preparing for superintelligence?
*Each and every one of us*, from individual, to group, from startup to NGO to MNC, should start preparing for the age of superintelligence.
The existential questions need to be asked.
Anyone that isn’t doing this (i.e. 99% of the planet) will be wholly unprepared.
The answers are not ready made — they are not easy. They require deeper contemplation and self reflection. But they must be asked.
Myself? I’ve completely written off trying to adapt to this passing world (the pre-AGI world). It’s a waste of my mindshare to try and do so. I could never fit in despite my best efforts… I have been a misfit and a mismatch my entire life.
But who cares at this point about trying to fit into the previous world? It’s time to get a leg-up on the post-AGI world.
JV Krishnamurti says “It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
I add “It is no measure of preparation to be well adjusted to a world that will soon disappear”.
