With Web trends like Twitter, Facebook, blogs, wikis, and others, hundreds to thousands of alternate perspectives are now assaulting our minds daily. The only way to process this influx is to let go the restraints we have on our current point of view.
I can say that limitations in my own perspective are being blown wide open with different points of view hitting me hard from thousands of sources, especially over the last year.
This phenomena will occur increasingly in the next couple of decades. My personal intention is to actively participate in the cross-pollination of perspectives. I’m infiltrating insular online networks and planting contrary ideas and concepts that can’t be easily shaken off. It’s a bit annoying to people, but in the end the agitation will cause a breakup of closed perspective shells – especially those shells that currently marginalize or oppress other humans. And may the same happen to me.
