Is our Spiritual Practice Limiting Us
Many of us tend to give full honor to our spiritual practice as the most important priority in our life. I certainly do this with meditation and contemplation. Currently, nothing in life is more important.
That said, we might notice our spiritual practice at some point loses its efficacy in providing us insight, and instead seems to be limiting our scope. At some point, we OUTGROW our spiritual practice.
Many traditional practices simply are ill-equipped to match the evolutionary pace of our soul in this day/age, and the requirement of an interpersonal component — interfacing with alternate paths. Further, many practices are simply not aligned with our unique path.
It’s important to feel when our practice has outgrown its purpose and place, or simply when it doesn’t fit with who we are. We must learn to step into a broader practice…or redefine our practice altogether.
In my case, meditation continually redefines itself each day — the practice itself evolves step-by-step with me. That’s how I keep it current. I invite you to share what you do as well.
In this 4:30 talk, I talk about the limitations of our spiritual practice…and the importance of recognizing when it is time to move on.
