Freedom of Choice vs. Choosing

Posted on September 14, 2011April 19, 2023 by Perspective Mapper

Choice is highly dependent, if not exclusively dependent, on desire. Our desire is refined through transcendence. This transcendence offers clarity. And with enough clarity, we become sensitive to our inner movement. As we’re sensitive to our inner movement, we naturally proceed in the most graceful manner possible. And if we automatically, naturally, spontaneously proceed in a graceful manner, what is the meaning of choosing?  The act of choosing is itself transcended.

The irony is that this process requires the freedom to choose at each step of the way. Transcendence enables the freedom of choice, and could even be defined as freedom of choice. The paradox is that freedom of choice has nothing to do with choosing.
