Does Religion do More Harm than Good?

Posted on December 18, 2023 by Perspective Mapper

The sheer brutality of our human conflicts, done in the name of and/or justified by religion, captures the definition of evil.

To believe such actions are “good”, “holy” and “necessary” is gaslighting at its most sinister and base form.

I don’t believe religion itself is evil. I do believe, however, that religions generally speaking do more harm than good. They have given us a reason to not truly listen to and learn from each other’s different points of view.

So I definitely stand in the “spiritual, not religious” classification. I embrace God. I embrace Love Your Enemies. I even embrace the primal desire for religion. But as they exist in our world, they to me clearly do more harm than good.
