Conflict Disorder

Posted on September 4, 2020April 19, 2023 by Perspective Mapper

Let’s make no mistake about it. The inability to process, let alone integrate, contradictory perspectives, is a profound mental and societal disorder.

However, this is a disorder that isn’t classified as such. The immaturity in dealing with conflicting views is a blindspot in the fabric of our reality.

If we were to classify failure to process conflict as a disorder, it would mean not just people, but entire industries, would have to reclassified as dysfunctional and detrimental for our well-being and thriving as human beings.

The fields of religion, law, politics, military, marketing, business, education, and even psychology will have to be reevaluated, and rebuilt, from the ground up, to make true space for seemingly contradictory points-of-view.

So to maintain the world order we live in depends on our feelings of conflict. But make no mistake — our inability to reconcile conflicting perspectives is at the root of suffering and ignorance.
